Thanks for the birthday greetings!

I appreciate all the kind thoughts as another decade begins.  Whoever said that old people are youngsters trapped in an aging body was very astute.  So the number doesn't bother me at all and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead.  My greatest blessing is a loving and caring family and as long as that's part of my future journey, I'll be a very happy camper.

By the way, Connie didn't post all of the pictures that she asked me to scan for her.  Here are a couple more.

I particularly like the pouty face pose and I doubt that any of you have seen the earliest picture of me that we have.  Enjoy!

Love to all,

Charlie

Happy birthday, Dad! (Grandpa!)

Dad,

We wish you a very happy 60th birthday today.  I have been so blessed to have been raised by you, a honest, sincere, loving father.  My kids are blessed to have such a fun, loving, goofy grandpa!  I hope you have enjoyed every one of the 60 years of your life so far, and most of all, I hope you enjoy every day of the many years you have ahead of you!  We love you deeply and wish you all of the love and happiness today can bring!  We just wish we were there to help you celebrate!  Enjoy your day, Dad!

Much love,
Mike, Kristen,Marina, Alexander and Xavier
WOW! 60 years old. Or, in your case, 60 years young. Whichever you choose, that is equal to over 1.8 BILLION seconds. Man, when you look at it that way, you are old. Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, brother! Hope its a great day and do something fun like take your honey bunch for a tractor ride.

Love Ya!!!

Happy 60th Birthday Charlie!

From this...

to this in 60 short years !!!

I’ve known you for most of those 60 years and I want to tell you how much I admire, respect and love you for the wonderful father, grandfather and husband that you are. We have been blessed and have shared a wonderful life together. I look forward to spending many more years with you. Happy Birthday Charlie!

All my love forever,
Connie

Will they go or will they stay?

The weather in Georgia is just plain WEIRD.  It was 44 degrees today, and it was snowing.  Really???  So, the forecast is for 1/2 to 1 inch of snow possible by morning.  Will Marina and Alexander have school or not?  I was at the grocery store picking up a few things for our Russian dinner tonight and witnessed some crazy people stocking up on bottled water and bread.  I try not to make fun of them, but it's so hard!  And.....the plant manager at Mike's plant announced today that everyone must be out of the building by 10:00 tonight, before they lock the doors, and they will not unlock the doors until 9:00 tomorrow morning.  So no one is allowed to be at work between 10pm and 9am.  I'm not complaining....I would love for the kids to have a "snow" day tomorrow, but I just really find it funny!  So, go ahead and laugh at us Southerners!

Hope you are all staying warm!
Love,
Kristen
