Hope everyone enjoyed their week together. If the weather was anything
like here it was HOT HOT HOT
Mom has been feeling sick for 2 weeks I didn't know how bad until Wed. when she really started slowing down. By Fri I told her she had to go to the
Drs. He did blood work and ordered a Cat Scan which couldn't be done until the following Wed. Sat. morning she looked so bad I told her she couldn't wait so we spent the better part of the day in the ER More blood work and
Cat Scan. There treating her for inflammation of the intestine. So hopefully the antibiotics will do the trick. Darn Pennell stubborness if she would have gone a couple of weeks ago it wouldn't be so bad. So I've been busy inside and out. I'm not very good at this nurse stuff. Will follow up this week to let you know how my patient is doing.

Number 36

Thank you to everyone who wished Happy Birthday! Stephanie has read all your comments and is very appreciative....although she thinks the pics went too far (back). :)
We had a pleasant celebration of #36 today. The van was packed with about 95% of all it needs as of this afternoon, so we had the evening to celebrate. Stephanie came home early, so we went for pizza and did a little errand running before coming home for present and ice cream cupcake. If you get the chance, Cold Stone has some new ice cream cupcakes that are excellent!!!!
Anyway, we'll see everyone very soon!!!
Happy Birthday Stephanie!!!!
Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you.........it will be cuter when sung by a 4-year old Munchkin! We hope you enjoy your special day and will look forward to a second celebration next week.
But, how did you get so old????? :)

Here We Come

As of 9:00 CDT, we're about 85% packed!! I've been working on the list most of the week and we're just about ready to go. We just have a few odds and ends that need to be packed tomorrow and Friday and we'll be heading out come early Friday morning. We'll spend the day Friday and most of the day Saturday in Chicago with my family before heading for Michigan City sometime around 2:30 or 3:00. We look to be at the house sometime around 4:30 to 5:00. As you all can tell we're very excited and we're looking forward to seeing everyone soon!!!

Unexpected Visitor
We had an unexpected visitor in our pool yesterday morning.
Fortunately, I got him out before Connie got in! The pool temp is around 85 degrees now, so it's one of her daily routines.
The Miller Reunion went well on Saturday. We had 26 people here. Weather was iffy, rained in the early morning but just sprinkled a bit in the afternoon. Didn't even get us indoors.
Went Cobra cruising yesterday afternoon for about 1 1/2 hours. Great fun and got to see some of the local small towns that I'd heard about , but had never been to. Another great day today. I might just hop in the Cobra and go to the Proving Grounds for a visit......
We are really looking forward to seeing the family next week. Grandma can't sleep already with excitement. Safe travels to all!!
Love,
Charlie

Swimming away

As we count down the days to vacation, we have a little diversion to keep Caitlin entertained. She began her second set of swim lessons yesterday. She is already showing improvements from last time out. The most important improvements have been made in her ability to listen and follow instructions. She is also getting better at keeping herself above water and being able to move around the pool without assistance. (except for a float belt)
Otherwise, there hasn't been a whole lot going on around here. We're looking forward to seeing everyone very soon!!!

Good weekend
We had a nice weekend. Saturday we moved stuff out of Don's moms house, thanks so much C&C, did a little shopping had lunch at Hot Dog Heaven, did yardwork at M&D's, thanks again C&C and then Matt, and Charlie worked on his car. Sunday we did a little more shopping, Charlie changed Don's shocks and then the guys went to Quaker Steak for the car show and we joined them for dinner. It was so nice to have them here and we really appreciate all of their hard work. Hope all of you had a good weekend as well. Good to Skype with some of you this weekend as well. Looking forward to Michigan City. Love to all.

What'cha doin'?
It's nearing 10:00 on Friday night. The kiddos are all in bed sleeping after a busy day of playing, swimming, playing, eating, playing and a night on the town. Mike is on call this weekend, so will be going in to work for some time in the morning tomorrow. The kids and I are hoping to head out to one of our favorite playgrounds in the morning while Mike is working and then we are having a neighborhood pool party tomorrow evening. Sunday it'll be church with a trip to Zoo Atlanta if the weather is nice. And next week Mike will be home with us all week! Yeah!!!
What are you doing this weekend?

Landscaping, Chapter 1
As we reported earlier, we have been spending a major part of our time over the last week or so on our landscaping project. Here's an interim report. Part of it is done now (YEA!!) so we can put up a few pictures. Lot's more to do, but we're satisfied with our progress. The area surrounding the deck is done and we've made alot of progress around the west fence. Note in the bottom right corner of the third picture a special plant for Marina, a Butterfly Bush!

We'll keep chipping away at it and will report again when there is more progress.
Love to all,
Charlie

Yummy fun!!!
The adventure I set out on this morning was a complete success and a ton of fun! The kids really enjoyed picking strawberries and searching for the perfect ones. As I guessed, Xavier came home a COMPLETE red, sticky mess yet absolutely adorable. I think he may have enjoyed this outing more than any of us! Here are a few pictures:

I've added more pictures from our morning on our blog, so hop on over if you would like to take a look. After picking berries we headed home to pack a picnic lunch and head to the pool. Fun in the summer sun!

How about sending some of that warmth and sunshine our way, hmmmmmm? Sunday was a nice day but we had rain, on and off, all the other days and it rained again today. That and the temps having only been in the 60s lately and its been pretty much yucky here. As I said, Sunday was a nice day so we took "baby" out for a short jaunt to break in her new "shoes". (see pix)
We did luck out some today in that we missed the action below by a mere few feet. I came home from the office to get something and they were hard at it. Surprisingly, when I got home from work this evening, they already have the base redone and I understand they're returning tomorrow to put on the top layer of asphalt. Big fun in Avon!?!?!?! Then, true to recent form, the rest of the week calls for more rain and low 60s. Yahoo!
The Pool is Open!!
Clean and clear water, but with water temperature around 70 degrees, wetsuits are recommended! Here's what we started with about a week ago:

Following a week of vacuuming, filtering and chemical stabilization, here's the current status:

This and landscaping are about all that we've been doing for the past week.
The kids should enjoy this. Tonight we had unexpected dinner guests:

More rain forecast for tomorrow, so maybe I will get some inside projects done. The rain is good for the new plants, though!
Have a good week!

It's HOT!
Well, we seem to be getting into the hot southern summer weather. We had mid 80's to low 90's for the past week and it just feels plain hot outside! I've mentioned it to some of you but I'm really surprised at how much hotter 80 degrees in Georgia feels than 80 degrees in Michigan felt. It's weird, but I'm not the only one that has noticed it so I must not be completely crazy!
The kids started vacation bible school last night and had so much fun they can't wait to go back tonight! Did I mention that Mike and I also really enjoyed VBS? Not that we stayed with the kids, but because we got to drop them off and have 2 hours and 45 minutes with our littlest dude!
We're hoping to pick strawberries tomorrow, if we can get out early enough so as not to melt right onto the strawberry plants. I've thought numerous times how this will all play out......a HUGE field of strawberry plants + a busy, busy 1 year old who loves strawberries = a baby with a bright red smile! I can't wait..... :O)
Hmmm, what else........took the kids shopping this morning and then met Mike for lunch. The boys are sleeping now. Marina is "resting" so she'll have lots of energy at VBS tonight. This afternoon will be full of "how much longer until VBS???" Fun times!
Hope everyone is doing well. Have I mentioned how excited we are to see all of you, minus the E&V Jankowski's :O( , in a few weeks! Woohoo!
Love and hugs,
Kristen
