Happy halloween...from Georgia!

Happy halloween!  We have had a great day today and I can safely say that the kids had a blast!  They loved trick-or-treating tonight and came home with just as much energy and excitement as when they left....and they walked nearly the whole neighborhood!  Xavier rode in the wagon mostly, but managed to come home with a few pieces of candy in his pumpkin!  :O)

Halloween in Iowa

Happy Halloween to all of you.  I hope you all had as much fun today as our little princess.  I have included some photos to show how Caitlin's Halloween went.  I hope you enjoy them. 

She had a terrific time trick or treating and stopped off at home only once for a quick rest and a box of Dots before heading back out for a second run. She is now curled up on my bed watching tv and I expect that she will be asleep within minutes. It's amazing what some excitement and fresh air can do for you. Unfortunately, it was only about 45 degrees today so her costume had to be covered with a jacket, but at least it was dry today.

We didn't have very many trick or treaters so I'll be taking a lot of candy to work with me this week.  I'll be sure to keep some back for our visitors though!  We can't wait for Grandma and Grandpa Miller and GG to get here on Tuesday.  Caitlin is extremely excited to have all of you visit us.  She wants to bunk in with GG.

Our little princess

Today was the Halloween party at preschool.  Our little "Cinderella" was so very excited...she has been waiting for the day she could wear her costume for months.  Based on her smile, I'd say she thinks it was worth the wait.  What do you think? 

He's Back.........

......and took a tour of the shop today. 

When inside, I closed the doors and then called the zoo to see if they had an escapee or would like to add him to their collection.  But no one called back, so I let him go.  After he crapped all over things including the truck and the computer.......But we had a long talk while waiting for the zoo to call back.  I stayed with him because I didn't want any peacock tracks on the Cobra or the Buick.  He was not particularly scared, which made me think he might be from the zoo.  Who knows!  He was wandering in the neighbors' yard this morning when I fed the Dragon.  And he was VERY loud at that time!

So, since he seems to like it here, let's have some fun with the kids.  Marina, Alexander, Caitlin and Xavier I need your help.  Please suggest names for the peacock so that when he comes to visit next time I can call him by name.  I've temporarily named him Pesky Peacock, but I'm sure you can come up with better suggestions!  Thanks for your help!

Carving the pumpkin

The Anderson family began a new tradition today.  Hopefully it will be more than a one year tradition, but carving pumpkins isn't exactly a strength.  However, Caitlin was excited to see the finished product even if she gave up on me during the carving.  It's hard for the young one to stay patient while waiting for the gourd to get cut.  After all, she can only watch while I cut.

New Wildlife in the Ginky Weeds

I bet the kids will get a kick out of this one.  Connie found a new species wandering around the pool fence this morning.  Our first ever peacock siting. 

He wandered all the way around the fence and up close to the house where I could get some closeups of him with the zoom lens

Then he returned to the back fence and wandered out into the weeds and finally retreated into the woods out by the neighblors' fence

That made for an interesting morning!  We've heard them before, but this is the first time to see one on our property.  Pretty cool.  I was hoping he would flair his tailfeathers if I chased him a bit, but he didn't oblige....

Happy Anniversary Vicki and Eric!!

Happy 2nd anniversary to you two!  While it's no doubt very difficult to celebrate it from two different sides of the globe, we're sure that you will find a way to make it a special day.  Our thoughts are with you as we send best wishes from Michigan.  Here's a toast to you both (with no alcohol for Vicki, of course)!  Cheers!!

We have just returned from our trip to Walt Disney World to celebrate Alexander's 5th birthday.  Here are a few pictures to document our fun!
